PointCard Titan: This new luxury payment card lets you redeem rewards for crypto
Partner offers are presented in this article.
Point has unveiled a new premium payment card that aims to rival the likes of Dot.app for card delivery in spring 2022.and the Capital One Venture X Rewards credit card. The PointCard™ Titan offers a relatively low annual fee ($399) and a few modern frills – including a range of customization options, travel benefits and an option to redeem cryptocurrency rewards. You can reserve a place at
It should be noted that Point is new to credit cards and has only one previous card offering, the PointCard Neon, which is a rewards debit card. With the Titan, Points says it’s targeting high-income, high-net-worth users, who may not have traditional income streams or established credit histories. As such, a rigorous credit check is not required and Point will direct its underwriting efforts to verifying your assets.
Personalization is available for reward categories as well as card design – an aesthetic bonus that is increasingly common among high-end cards. Similar to the Apple Card, the physical Titan Card does not display an account number; purchases are instead made through theor with a virtual credit card number on the Points app – a feature that provides better privacy and security.
Rewards can be earned and redeemed in specific categories, including fashion, groceries, travel, and even electric vehicle charging, where every dollar spent earns you 3 or 5 points, depending on the category. On purchases outside of special rewards categories, you earn 1 point for every dollar spent. Points can be redeemed for cash, bitcoin, ether, airline miles, or discounts at select premium retailers. When you trade for cash, bitcoin, or ether, 1 point is worth $0.01, giving you the chance to earn up to 5% back on favorite categories. However, crypto rewards are held in a custodial account, which means there is no way to move them to an external wallet.
As with many premium travel cards, the PointCard Titan offers free TSA Precheck and Global Entry, priority access to the Priority Pass lounge for the cardholder and one guest, no foreign transaction fees, and insurance. trip cancellation.
Annual fees can be steep with premium travel cards like the Platinum Card® from American Express, which is $695 (see rates and fees). However, we think this card is worth it, especially for people who like to travel first class. The PointCard Titan has a lower annual fee, putting it more on par with the Capital One Venture X Rewards credit card, which costs $395 per year. The Capital One Venture X focuses more on travel purchases for rewards than the Titan and offers a higher base rewards rate – but Titan is more modern with virtual credit cards, crypto rewards and reward categories flexible.
