Sportswear giant Nike has leased property at the River Park Mall, taking over retail space on Blackstone Avenue that was once occupied by the Macaroni Grill.
This Italian-themed restaurant chain closed in 2020 and the building was demolished last year.
The deal with Nike for 14,000 square feet of retail space was brokered by Commercial Retail Associates in Fresno, which disclosed this week. It is not known if it will be a retail store, a factory or a clearance store, or when the ground will be broken on the property. Nike Media Relations could not be reached for comment.
Neither broker representatives nor River Park responded to messages asking for details.
The sportswear company has 39 stores in California, including a Nike Factory Store in the Tulare Outlets mall in San Joaquin’s central sinessalley. It also has outlet stores at the Tejon Ranch in Arvin, the Pismo Beach Premium Outlets and the Gilroy Premium Outlets. Only 11 of Nike’s stores in California are retail stores, with the rest being clearance, community or factory outlets.
