Mahua Moitra and her high-end handbags have garnered enough attention in recent days, with the saffron camp choosing the subject to corner Trinamool Congressman, an outspoken government critic Narendra Modi.

She has now responded to a news portal which shared a clip of her leaving a luxury car asking if Moitra had ‘changed her fashion sense’ after the controversy. The TMC deputy said it was also a Louis Vuitton – Pochette. She added that the car in which she was seen coming to Parliament belonged to an MP from Andhra Pradesh with whom she often carpooled.

“Dear ones, it’s also Louis Vuitton – the Pochette. Look it up, it’ll save you time trying to figure it out. The car is a G-Wagon with an AP license plate owned by Andhra MP with whom we carpool often. Saved you some detective work too! Thumbs up!,” she wrote on Twitter.

Last week, a video of a Lok Sabha session went viral with the BJP claiming that Moitra was seen hiding her Louis Vuitton bag from the start of the price hike debate. Shortly after, the Twitterati took over and debated whether Moitra, being a former investment banker before joining politics, could afford the bag.

Later, the TMC Congresswoman posted a photo collage showing how she’s worn the Louis Vitton bag since 2019.
