Sales Representative – Metro West Boston
Goal:
The role of the sales representative is to be the first line in providing state-of-the-art service to local distribution customers. The role will develop a premium alcoholic beverage portfolio with a primary focus on beer in an assigned territory.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain contact, communication and relationships with customers (on-site and off-site)
- Execute directed programming to help meet distribution and volume goals
- Develop clients’ knowledge of the HGD portfolio and maintain the specified call frequency target
- Use and maintain sales orders and data via route accounting software (Encompass)
- Help run key tastings, wait staff trainings, promotions, and beer dinners once it’s safe to do so
- Ensure good customer merchandising with paper and permanent point of sale
- Develop appropriate pricing strategies for the portfolio
- Monitor trade beer code dates, ensure all products are renewed and fresh
- Responsible for accounts receivable in assigned territory
- Act as a trusted business consultant to assigned clients
- Represent HGD and partner breweries in the local community in a responsible and charitable manner
- Monthly administrative documents will be required
Skills and experience:
- Previous sales experience, knowledge of the beer market an asset
- Attention to detail is a must
- Above Average Ability to Solve Problems
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Competitive in nature, wants to win
- Confident and ready to question conventional wisdom
- Enjoy a very fast paced environment and adapt to change
- Good team player able to work in several functions and disciplines
Qualifications:
- Valid and clean driver’s license
- Beer enthusiast, Certified Cicerone preferred
- Bachelor of Business
- Willingness to work unconventional hours
- Ability to consume responsibly
- Must currently live in Massachusetts
