Glenfiddich unveils its latest New Year’s Edition

Glenfiddich from William Grant and Sons unveiled the third limited-edition packaging of its Gran Reserva 21 years Single Malt gift set created by Shenzhen-based artist Rlon Wang exclusively for travel retail.

The 2022 limited-edition bottle completes a trilogy of what the brand calls “sobering stories.” The story began with Charles Gordon (son-in-law of Glenfiddich founder William Grant) and his journey to bring Speyside Scotch whiskey to the world. The following year saw the Glenfiddich Stag’s ‘Great Homecoming’ story, while this past year is, according to the brand, an “imagining of what we ask for when we finally arrive home after a great adventure – and then ?”

Will Peacock, Global Head of Luxury says, “With the conclusion of this series of limited-edition CNY packs, artist Rlon Wang speaks to our times by capturing a sense of optimism for the future. The talented illustrator, a maverick in his field, takes our characters on a final journey towards a horizon of possibilities and opportunities.

Artist Rlon Wang adds of the partnership: “I really enjoyed working with Glenfiddich on this final design; I was able to use a multi-layered illustration technique to put people’s brightest hopes and dreams onto a canvas. I gave the design an otherworldly feel with the use of traditional symbols in futuristic shapes. We see old friends – the royal stag of Glenfiddich and the traditional dancing Chinese lion – soaring to the stars with a bright galaxy ahead; auspicious lanterns, lotus flowers and a hovering phoenix guide them through a vibrant world of galactic proportions. Weightlessness allows them to reach new heights, representing a limitless future that awaits them.

The limited edition Glenfiddich Gran Reserva 21 Year Old Malt Whiskey pack is now available at luxury whiskey outlets at select airports in Asia-Pacific (China, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, Australia), EMEA and the we.
