Two Los Angeles County brothers were arrested last week after carrying out a series of coordinated thefts from southern California retail stores, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said on Wednesday.

Vardan Gevorgyan is accused of stealing an “entire storefront” worth about $ 21,500 from a jewelry store on the 800 block of Los Angeles Avenue in Moorpark in November, officials said.
As the investigation unfolded, detectives learned that the same suspect was responsible for committing similar thefts at seven different locations of the same department store chain in Southern California, with a total loss of more than $ 124,000, “the statement added.
Another such incident was listed as having occurred in the 2900 block of Tapo Canyon Road in Simi Valley, the statement said.
Vardan Gevorgyan “conspired and worked in conjunction with his brother, Raphael Gevorgyan, of Van Nuys to commit the thefts,” officials said.
The brothers were arrested in Pacoima, where one of them had stayed, and were held at Ventura Main Prison on two counts of theft, the sheriff’s office added.
Jail records show Vardan Gevorgyan is being held on $ 70,000 bail, of which only $ 20,000 is linked to the two alleged thefts in Ventura County. In addition, Vardan Gevorgyan faces one felony charge of possession of contraband in prison, for which his bail was set at $ 30,000, and three felony charges outside of Ventura County for alleged identity theft and receiving stolen goods. of stolen goods, for which his bond is set at $ 20,000. .
Vardan Gevorgyan is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on Thursday afternoon for smuggling, and he is due to return on January 21 for retail theft.
Raphael Gevorgyan faces only two counts of robbery and his bond has been set at $ 75,000. He is also due in court on January 21.
