Frank Ocean to Launch “American Luxury” Fashion Brand with High-End Jewelry and Silk Scarves

Enigmatic R&B artist Frank Ocean has announced Homer, his new ‘American luxury business’. The company’s first collection consists of high-end jewelry and printed silk scarves.

Homer “represents the carving of history in stone,” explains a press release, probably referring to the influential Greek writer. Frank Ocean says the first collection is inspired by “childhood obsessions” and “heritage as fantasy”.

The jewelry is made from 18k gold, recycled sterling silver, American lab-grown diamonds and hand-painted enamel. Laboratory-grown diamonds are a more ethical alternative to diamond mining. The collection includes chains, diamond rings, bracelets and even tongue rings, all handcrafted in Italy.

From dice-shaped earrings to colorful pendants, Frank Ocean photographed this playful collection in a catalog. Ocean photographed the collection alongside collaborator Tyrone Lebon. The Homer catalog has 160 pages. Ocean even teases a future collaboration with Prada.

You can purchase pieces from Frank Ocean’s first Homer collection at their store at 70-74 Bowery in New York City. In its usual exclusive manner, the boutique will be open on August 9 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and you can make an appointment here.

Frank Ocean’s last musical release was in April 2020. He released “Cayendo” and “Dear April” on streaming services. Review it here.
